Billy Miner Neighbourhood Pub

We went to the pub for dinner and drinks last night, and we were basically hurried along to finish our dinner as a group of 10-15 people were coming in for a 50th birthday party. We were a group of 4 and told that this group was coming in and that they needed our table to complete the group setting. We were told about 3 times that they needed our table. How rude!! NO, we will never go back. The only reason we ended up there was because the DON Cherry Pub was closed. Too bad!!!

My husband and I had a rare day off together yesterday & decided to go to the Billy Miner Pub on the recommendations of a few friends. Having lived in this city for over 7 years, I had never been to the Pub before and my husband had only been there once (for a few drinks with friends) some time ago. We arrived for our lunch date just before noon. There was only one table with customers seated in the lower lounge. We sat at a table in the upper lounge. The waitress did not acknowledge us at all. During the 12 minutes we sat in the virtually empty Pub, the cook walked past and looked at us 3 times. We don't know if he told the waitress (who was too busy discussing a trip to Cabo loudly) that we were waiting....but if he didn't, then why not? We were fed up waiting for someone to acknowledge our presence by this time, so we left and had a lovely lunch at the newly renovated Haney House. We will NEVER return to this establishment.

My wife and I went there for lunch after hearing of the new owners and great food. With only one table occupied in the whole restaurant the waitress seemed more interested in talking to the one table about Mexico then taking our order. After waiting there fir more than 10 minutes and the cook walking past and looking at us at least three times we decided to leave and go to the Haney Pub instead. We will not be giving them a second chance.

Best food I have ever had. The hot blonde working the kitchen is so friendly and makes it a great place to eat. She has done such a good job changing the place. I have never seen anybody work as hard as she has in that pub.

The place is soo much better now. There are new owners/managment/staff and they are making the place look desirable inside. There is a sign showing there will be a new menu soon and rumor is there will be a smokehouse kitchen. Went and enjoyed a drink and couldn't beleive the small differences already. There are TV's everywhere for such a small place!

I have gone to the Billy Miner Sunday Jam on and off now for about 5 years. I love the place and the atmosphere. It is such a shame that the current owner doesn't do anything to up keep the place. If your going to invest in an Historic building you should HAVE TO maintain it. The same womens toilet stall door is stll broken since I have been going. The owner is very low key and is not your usual kind of proprietor. The food is very mediocre. I know this is a negative review but I honestly like the place a lot. thats why I am concerned as it needs a lot of TLC. I don't go for the food. I usualy eat before I get there. I go for the people, the atmosphere and the music on Sunday night.

I totally agree with the previous review... My husband and I actually waited 15 minutes before leaving. We did however, get to peruse the extremely dirty menu. Definitely would not go back!

I recently visited this pub, and found it to be cheap Costco type food in a very dirty atmosphere, I'm not sure who owns this pub, but it sure has changed in the last few years

I did not find it very welcoming. all the people there kind of looked at us like we didn't belong. after waiting nearly ten minutes to be acknoledged by the wait staff we decided to leave or go somewhere else, we went to the Witch instead and got much better sevice there. I haven't been back to Billy Miner since. Oh well I guess there are more important things in business then repeat customers??

Too bad.
